When she first came to us, Harlie was extremely emaciated, and we were concerned for her survival. Although she was tiny (less than 5 pounds) and looked like a kitten, the vet estimated she was a senior cat, possibly 13-15 years old. With antibiotics and steroids she was able to gain weight.  In addition to being malnourished, Harlie has arthritis in her back legs, and many bad teeth.  Despite her fragile condition, Harlie is a very loving cat. She is also very vocal. She has the most endearing way of getting your attention, with many “mrrrr’s”, “murrowl’s”, and “murrrrp’s”.
