Before he came to us, Gray lived outside and was being fed by a caretaker. When the caretaker had to move, we took him in. We noticed that Gray had a limp that seemed to get worse from time to time. We took him to a specialist who took x-rays of his legs and found that he had a congenital defect in his hip. Treatment would be expensive and is usually not very effective, so we decided against it. That was quite a few years ago, and he is still getting along well and doesn’t seem to be in any discomfort. Gray is affectionate with people he knows, but he can be cranky and unpredictable with strangers. He gives the vet a hard time during his annual exams.
